Our youth ministry at RBC consists of junior high and high school students (7th-12th grade). Our desire is to partner with parents to see youth transformed by the gospel and growing in their love for Jesus and His Word. Through instruction in the Word we teach them to mature in their faith, serve others, and develop godly relationships. We also incorporate games and activities designed to maximize fun and fellowship in our times together.

Join us Sunday mornings at 9:00 am for a time of fellowship and teaching from God’s Word.

We also meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm for fellowship, teaching, and game time.

Our Philosophy of Youth Ministry

Rooted exists to glorify God by discipling students into mature followers of Christ (Colossians 1:28). Youth ministry isn't a separate program but part of the life of the whole church, overseen by our elders and grounded in the authority of God's Word (2 Timothy 3:16–17). At its center is the gospel, which calls students to repentance and faith in Christ and is what truly changes lives (Romans 1:16).

In practice, that looks like:

  • Teaching the Word so students understand God's truth and grow in faith (2 Timothy 4:2).
  • Discipleship and mentorship from mature believers who model Christlikeness (Matthew 28:19–20).
  • Evangelism that calls students to Christ and equips them to share their faith (Romans 10:14–15).
  • Worship and prayer that are God-centered and carry into daily obedience (Romans 12:1–2; Philippians 4:6–7).
  • Fellowship and service that connect students to the life and mission of the church (Hebrews 10:24–25; Ephesians 4:12).
  • Partnering with parents, who are the primary disciple-makers of their children (Deuteronomy 6:6–7).
  • Purposeful fun, using games to build relationships and set a godly example (Zechariah 8:4–5).

Meet Our Youth Leader

Pastor Jeren WentworthPastor Jeren Wentworth leads Rooted. He serves as Family Pastor and an elder at Rosedale Bible Church, and he loves helping students know Christ, grow in God's Word, and become mature followers of Jesus. Jeren holds a Master of Divinity from The Master's Seminary. He and his wife, Darian, have four children: Jubilee, Evangeline, Calvin, and Peter.
